The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) turns 100 years old in 2016. The organization that has overseen and set the standards for the most important technical advances in movies and TV over the last century isn't getting old, it's getting more relevant to an industry that is in the midst of so many changes. The SMPTE 2016 Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition has a lot of ground to cover this October 25th through 27th and will hit all biggest topics from new digital broadcast technology, visual enhancements in movies and TV and even virtual reality.
