Peerless-AV Takes Home Entertainment Outside

Outdoor entertaining is witnessing a huge surge in popularity, and Peerless-AV plans to help homeowners create their own fresh-air A/V oasis by offering a full line of products made to withstand all sorts of weather conditions.

Peerless-AV has offered weatherproof TVs for some time, but the line was targeted mostly at the commercial market, according to Peerless-AV director of professional AV sales Earl Naegele. Now the company unveils a line of newly redesigned weatherproof TVs designed specifically for the residential market, which includes the debut of a 65-incher. “The UltraView Outdoor TVs will incorporate all of the robust technology of our commercial products, but in a footprint that’s about 40 percent thinner,” Naegele adds. In addition to a sleeker design, the 49-, 55-, and 65-inch TVs will carry a price tag that’s about 20 percent less than Peerless-AV’s line last year, starting at about $2,999.

The UltraView Outdoor TVs are equipped with an LED backlight to provide a full 1080p resolution; they also come with an IP68-rated waterproof and dustproof universal remote that can be programmed to control up to three additional devices.

Outdoor Soundbar

The Xtreme Outdoor Soundbar features a universal mounting option, making it an ideal companion piece for the UltraView Outdoor TVs. Built-in amplification combined with direct wired connection to a TV precludes having trench wiring outside. Additionally, Bluetooth compatibility enables wireless streaming of music. Important specs: 50Hz-20kHz, 60 watts, and an IP65 rating.

A/V Distribution System

Rounding out the outdoor A/V showcase at the Peerless-AV booth will be a wireless A/V distribution system, the PeerAir Pro. This system builds off Peerless-AV’s first PeerAir system, but with the added capability of distributing high-def content to multiple displays and incorporating a special weatherproof enclosure for the system’s receiver component.
