Home automation is a feature that you really need to see in action to understand its full potential. To make it easy for consumers to touch and feel the technology, Control4 will be taking a fully automated, custom “Smart Design, Smart Living” Airstream coast-to-coast to showcase smart home technology to consumers, interior designers, and architects. The first stop on the multi-city tour is the Innovation & Design Building in Boston, during Boston Design Week, April 4 to 7.
This smart home on wheels was designed expressly to show how home technology can work behind the scenes to complement the décor of any residence. Inside the Control4 Airstream smart lighting, whole-house music and video, intelligent safety and security, and voice control will be demonstrated.
“With technology playing an essential part of our lives, we seek to develop products and experiences that will complement and augment the beauty and functionality of every home,” says Susan Cashen, Control4 senior vice president of marketing, support and training. “At Control4, we believe in adapting technology to complement the character of all home environments and in creating an atmosphere that appeals to any homeowner and family.”
During the 12-week tour, Control4 will also offer training courses to architects, interior designers and other professionals interested in learning more about smart home technology and its impact on the home environment.
Following Boston, the Airstream will make stops at NY Auto Show, New York City, April 14 -23; AIA Conference on Architecture, Orlando, April 27-29; and DWELL on Design, Los Angeles, June 23-25.
